Hey, I've been in a firefight before! Well, I was in a fire. Actually, I was fired from a fry-cook opportunity. I can handle myself.

Oh no! I'm glad they weren't seriously injured!

I got the opposite sort of news awhile ago. A teenage boy I indirectly know here in Belgium fell down some stairs two and a half weeks ago. He died and was revived, but he's been in a coma since with so much swelling they've been unable to do an MRI to test his brain function. And today, miraculously, he woke up. Completely unexpectedly.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

This needs to spread like wildfire, y'all: [link]

Yeah, I was thinking about not getting mine replaced when it's due (which is probably this year), because I'm 45, but NO WAY am I taking that risk now. I will go for IUD #3.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

And today, miraculously, he woke up. Completely unexpectedly.

That's wonderful. Glad someone got some good news today.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh Jesus, Kalshane. So scary! I hope everyone is OK. And at least you've already been car shopping, so you don't have to start from scratch? (Sorry if that is too Pollyanna right now.)

He died and was revived, but he's been in a coma since with so much swelling they've been unable to do an MRI to test his brain function. And today, miraculously, he woke up. Completely unexpectedly.

Wow!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Oh, man, Kalshane! I'm sorry.

Wow, Callaluna, nice to read some good news.

Work is not nearly distracting enough. Can't concentrate on what I'm doing, can't curl up in a ball and cry.

Had two conversations about the election. One coworker said "I'm not going to say anything more because I recognize that I'm in a Blue State and it's a sore spot for everyone" which I'm trying not to spend too much energy on parsing, and another came over and outright commiserated with me about how unreal it all is. Which may have broke me a little.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Oh no, Kalshane! I'm glad everyone is okay.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

I really hope your wife and son recover quickly, Kalshane. What a scary event. I had just finished sending out a warning to bike riders I know because everyone is so shell-shocked and/or rageful that I'm worried the roads are more dangerous than usual.

Wow. I hope this is just the beginning of positive developments in his recovery.

Thank you for sharing that amazing news. It is easy to forget that good things ARE happening and will continue to happen. Thanks for the reminder.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Took a nap, now trying to make myself get up.

Yeah. I have no idea how we're going to swing getting 2 replacement cars. I don't expect to see much of anything from our insurance since her car was 17 years old.

I canceled the test drive we had scheduled for tonight since we have no way to get there right now.
