Laura, glad to hear that surgery went well.
Dana, that's sucky. At least he won't have to be furtive about any interviews.
msbelle, congrats on the car!
This seems to be the week for vendor/contractor types to say creepy, inappropriate things to me at work. Is it really only Tuesday? One guy may face some consequences, at least.
Y'alls, msbelle is thick in her accent on fb. I think she's out petting her car.
It is still at the dealership. I went by myself to see it today, so no way to get it home. I have only put $1000 down until the transfer of money clears into my checking account so I can write a check for the balance and on that day, one of my parents will take me up and I will drive it home. I need to clean up the garage in the next day so that it will fit inside, that will require lots of piling of boxes. Perhaps I go into work tomorrow, get my laptop and "work from home" the rest of the day.
Thats right, you've got a near driver happening to need the old car, so you'll keep it. (OMG, how? ) My eldest nephew is also getting driving lessons. Funnily enough, the youngest can already drive, better than his brother, once you put blocks on the pedals(of course that happened.) He's 10, but a gearhead.
my stupid accent. Without people around, I forget to correct for it.
This is so selfish, but I'm glad my eldest aunt & uncle don't live in Houston anymore. OTOH, they live in wildfire hill country & a few years back had to evacuate to Austin, but property survived. But this time, I'm glad they aren't there.
My gosh the Internet is wonderful. I'm watching Jeeves & Wooster for the umpteenth time, and I was trying to puzzle out the floorplan of his apartment. I thought "Maybe there's someone on the Net who was daft enough in the right way who's figured out the floorplan." And lo and behold, there is! And there were comments, which even addressed and answered the question of where Jeeves' room is! Truly, we live in a golden age.
Well, shit, dana, I'm really sorry.
What, no link, Connie?
Job~ma for Dana's DH and tommyrot.
sarameg, I don't think it is selfishness to be relieved when loved ones are safe from a particular peril. It's not like we are glad other people are suffering or that we wished suffering on others.
