Coming late to the Civil War conversation but I never realized until recently that my uni Civil War course was all about industrialism. Trade, unequal resources, capitalist greed.
It's not that slavery wasn't mentioned, but now that I think of it, I did really poorly in that class (despite being a good student) because I just didn't understand what was going on. I don't mean to say that I knew better. I absolutely did not, but the A+B=C of it didn't add up.
In re: corn: The farmers' market across the street from me has a special $1 per pound sale on summer Sunday afternoons. 4 ears of corn for a dollar.
I've been putting it on everything!
(Iphone6, not the s or whatever, in case you're wondering, the quiet market re-infiltrator.)
I'm totally getting the SE (the quiet market re-infiltrator) because I LOVE the size of it. The smaller the smartphone, the better.
I have the SE mostly because I didn't want to get all new cases. And now I carry it around careless all the time. But it is a comfortable size in my hand.
I kind of hate my phone case, because it makes the phone so clunky but I'm scared to take it out! (And now have my transit pass and work ID in a holder attached the case, which is super convenient.)
Can you attach the case to you if you don't have a pocket? If so, that sounds close to ideal. My main reason for not using a case is that I compulsively plug my phone into a charger whenever possible and the case gets in the way of that.
Ugh, who scheduled this 8am conference call? Oh, right, I did. Ugh.
I forgot to turn off the alarm I set for yesterday's 7AM meeting.
Can you attach the case to you if you don't have a pocket?
Nah, I just keep it in my hand.
Speaking of phones, is it just me, or have smartphones made it OK to read in the bathroom at work?
I am simultaneously happy that I'm not in Houston, relieved that the hurricane won't seriously impact New Orleans, and guilty about those two feelings.
