This girl at school? She told me that gelatin is made from ground-up cow's feet and that every time you eat Jell-O there's some cow out there limping around without any feet. But I told her that I'm sure the cow is dead before they cut its feet off, right?

Coworkers are developing a geek astrology, based on what OS you were born under. Mine is iffy, because we're looking at proto-systems being worked on by weird people in IBM's basement.

Our wings are not tired

Wow, I'm not sure what I'd be born under. Possibly CP/M

I'm surrounded by people saying stuff like "I think I was born under Windows 3.1". I need my cane to wack people with.

Connie, have they decided what 1971 would fall under? Asking for a friend.

Yikes, looks like I'm stormed out tonight.

meara, if you can scope out backroads routes to get the extra few miles, I'd say try it. I'd avoid main routes, but if it isn't that far...

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

um ... when I was born, it was punch cards and huge computers running tape reels ... was there an operating system back then?

Yeah, CP/M is actually 1974, so that's not early enough for me. The PDP-11 is the one that most closely aligns with 1971. RSX-11 for those machines came out in 1972, with the PDP-11 in 1970.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Ugh. I woke up at 1 (needed to pee, went back to sleep after) so I'm a bit tired. Also, Mr. S keeps putting ducks down my shirt.(Yes, the same ducks he was sucking on yesterday. He's sucking on them today as well.)

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Tell him to put down the duckie, Sheryl.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Ugh, the way people have been piling on more work while simultaneously delaying getting me what I need to *do* it in the lead-up to leaving on vacation, I'm torn between making a pinhole viewer for the eclipse or a black sword I can wave around while shouting "BLOOD AND SOULS FOR MY LORD ARIOCH!"
