Ugh, just realized I've worked 15 days straight through without a break on my current project, including a 14-hour day yesterday.
Yikes. That would make me nuts.

That is WAY too much work. I don't think I've ever been able to do that. I mean, I've worked those hours, but it was terrible and not good quality work and I sure didn't bounce back well.

I did that for almost a month, two jobs ago, when I was in my 30s. Never again.
I listen to a couple of Fox News podcasts to help balance out my podcast politics listening. It's kinda nauseating to have some of the people on there equating BLM to Neo-Nazis and blaming the media for, well, everything.
I can see where that would be depressing, Gud. On the other hand, I'm pretty sure Fox News is no longer considered a "news" channel. Its CEO said they're not looking to compete with other news channels, but with TNT and ESPN. It's entertainment for ultra conservatives. I'm working on an online course with, among others, Bill Adair, the Politifact guy. He suggests the Weekly Standard for a conservative perspective. [link]
I had a year when I was working two jobs and taking classes at Marquette and UW Milwaukee where I had Christmas Day with neither work nor school. Full stop.
Since Sophia mentioned keto bread, I'm betting she can't do potatoes, either. Otherwise the cheese-covered latkes would be a great suggestion, and I'd make them for dinner.
I know I found a recipe for keto bread that said it works well for grilled cheese sandwiches, but I haven't made it yet. I'll see if I can dig up the link.
I fell behind again.
-t, so glad your dad is safe! No more going off alone, dad of -t! Geez.
I was about to say, I'm glad none of my family members are prone to the sort of adventures that would make me worry about them. Then I remembered my niece Vulvatron, recently at a heavy metal concert in Slovenia, travels and drinks all over Europe every year, but at least she's always with good people who will keep her safe. And then I realized, the adventurous family member who hikes and climbs stuff and goes off into the wild is, um, me. hahaha facepalm
When we did grilled cheese, back before the drastic reduction of fat in our diets, it was white bread, buttered on one side with cheese between the buttered sides, in a skillet with more butter, and a weight or the spatula pressing down to flatten the bread even more. Can't take all that grease now, so we do what we call "cheese toasties": multigrain bread, toasted in the toaster, cheese between freshly popped up slices of bread, the sammich flattened by pressing between paper towels, then popped in the microwave for enough seconds to melt the cheese to where it's just starting to ooze out the sides of the bread. Nom.
I am not allowed to make the grilled cheese in our house, due to the unfortunate incident that set off the smoke alarm. But I suspect that Tim uses a lot of butter when he makes it, because it is sooooooo good.
Oooh, I love cauliflower with cheese. Yes.
Dad update: he's on his way home. He's doing the driving because the other guys got more sore and banged up riding horses back to the pack station (none of them are habitual riders) and he had an extra day of rest after his helicopter ride. Even though he lost his progressive glasses (by falling off a log while crossing "fairly deep" water - he almost lost his hat and sunglasses but grabbed them, didn't notice the other glasses were gone until he was back in civilization) but his distance vision is pretty good. Anyway, I'm tracking his phone (which was turned off and left in the car while he was hiking, of course).
