I always feel like I Should Be Doing More. Other people need to and should relax and take it easy, but I shouldn't.
I'm kind of the opposite of that first. Rationally, I know I should be doing more, being more proactive about housework, exercise, and long-delayed side tasks at work. But I don't feel like most of that is urgent and I apply an "I'll deal with that when I HAVE to" attitude to most stuff.
Sophia, I am not, but that sounds like a great thing to listen to today at work.
Ah ha! You both are the (kind of) people who are glad Previously.tv has turned from a recap site to a podcast network. I don't want to listen to more podcasts!
I love podcasts that are people I like, chatting about things I like- so my favorites are Pulp Culture Happy Hour, Previously.tv, Slate Double X gabfest when June Thomas is on, and one called the Shipping Room.
I also listen to podcasts about 8 hours a day because they somehow help me concentrate?
I like podcasts for housework. I can't think and listen at the same time, but if I don't really need to think, excellent.
I feel like my mind always has several channels going on at once, so the podcast takes the channel that is always asking questions and distracting me and keeps it busy. But I grew up reading and doing homework in front of the tv.
I can see that. Actually, that works for me if I can listen to something that I don't care whether I follow it, but those are kind of hard to come by. Mostly I find myself thinking "wait, what was I trying to do?" a lot when I get caught up in what I'm listening to and "wait, what did they just say?" when I get caught up in what I'm doing and I just get frustrated with everything.
It works for me too. I especially like having Discworld novels in the background. I know them so well that I don't have to pay too close attention. At the same time, each new re-listen uncovers something new.

Yeah, that's where I'm at -- commuting and housework. But my commute is short and I don't do much housework!
Poor Loki, no fangs. I hope it doesn't bother him too much and he can still eat all his favorite foods.

Me too. Often times I won't be able to tell you what was actually in the podcast, but somehow I get less distracted having that background talk. Maybe I feel like I don't have to pay a lot of attention because I can always replay it.
