I am now in Detroit. I started reading a Zadie Smith book due back soon to the library. I have eaten a salad. I am going to stay off Twitter even before I get on the plane. Look at this adulting.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Went out for breakfast and had the Official Birthday Brunch Food, Eggs Benedict. Spent most of the rest of today loading up my new iPad and slounging. The DH gave me the aforementioned iPad, as well as replacing my Flash t-shirt, which I wore out from wearing every single weekend. Tonight it's dinner at home plus ice cream and GoT. All in all, a perfect birthday.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Happy Birthday Scrappy!

Happy birthday, scrappy!

Weekend so full. Outdoor swims (even a 4K, though abysmally slow,) new furniture, cleaning, good Mexican food, SHARKSPEARE water ballet. I might need a week to recover. And Loki does dental tomorrow and may come back toofless, sigh.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

They did not need my seat, so I am not $800 richer. I can't say I'm sorry to sleep in my own bed, though.

Happy birthday, Scrappy!

I spent a fun weekend in the mountains with megan walker, although it was complicated by unexpected!teenagedrockclimbers. Still, we tasted wine and looked at art and enjoyed scenery and climbed mountains, and she was patient with my need to engage with every single dog we met on the trail. And then we waited a long time for lobster rolls (with avocado and sriracha because this is California), and drove home while talking about movies and books. A good time was had by all (except possibly the lobsters).

Apparently I'd made a teeth cleaning appt for Pumpkin, too. Which was not my understanding, but whatever. May re-schedule that after my pocketbook recovers from this episode. But Loki is off at the vet's and Pumpkin has been fed. They woke me up @5 and that was a LOOOOOONG 3 hours. I've put all the books back on the shelves.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

So somehow last week, I stopped paying attention to my million outstanding to-do items. Whoops.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Happy birthday, Scrappy!

I feel like ass this morning, don't know why. It's raining pretty hard, which is good because it's been so dry.
