Oh, I weighed myself at the hospital yesterday and I've lost about 5 pounds. That's not awful.
That sounds amazing, in a period of forced inactivity!
My job is hilarious. Everything is super down to the wire today, some because the fiscal year ends, some because apparently everyone is going on vacation today. So I have already had two phone calls and answered five questions this morning. Knocking them down!

I just saw a production of Great Expectations set in India under the British Raj. Indian Pip was delightful!
Oh, cool!

Interesting take on "chilling". Most people would do that on a couch.
Couches are for flipping over, obviously.
Dog is using kid as pillow, that is a smart dog.

They better not get the fuck back up again!
I've also been unfucking shit this morning, and I'm only now eating breakfast.
My cholesterol is not Velveeta! It went down, but is still a hair over the upper limit of normal, which honestly doesn't concern me. My LDL (the "bad" cholesterol) went down as well, from borderline high to normal. My HDL (the "good" cholesterol) went down, which is not awesome, but it's okay. But my triglycerides went from normal to "congratulations, you are a Lang." (They're 197; anything over 199 is considered high, so I'm still barely borderline.)
My glucose is a hair over the upper limit of normal, but that doesn't concern me overmuch.
I have to google how to lower triglycerides, but I'm pretty sure the answer is "less sugar," which seems to be the answer to everything, damn it.
Cheese doesn't have much sugar, surely.
Actually, the recommendation is less starchy carbs and more exercise, which I already knew I should be doing (but currently am not).
Also, I just looked it up, and the AHA uses 240 as a cutoff for "high" cholesterol, while my doctor uses 200, which is some kind of bullshit. Mine is 210, and after looking up the AHA's cutoffs, I feel just fine about my numbers.
But I need to get back to exercising and fewer cookies, damn it.
But my doctor didn't message me about wanting to put me on Lipitor, so I'm taking the win.
I will, however, NOT tell my Dad what my cholesterol is, because he -- for real -- thinks that if you are able to get your total cholesterol down to only 2 digits, you should. So he'll interpret the high end of normal as OMG YOU WILL DIE IN TWO SECONDS IN FACT YOU MIGHT BE DEAD NOW HAVE YOU CHECKED.
