That's always good, Velveeta isn't very good at carrying oxygen.

For some reason, while listening to Al Franken's Giant of the Senate, I thought of Harry Potter and realized that the seventh book is basically an allegory of a political campaign. Harry is obviously the candidate. He's the talented, public-facing sort of person you want as a candidate. Hermione is the definitive campaign manager. She manages all the details, stays well away from the limelight, and the candidate would be lost and helpless without her. Ron is the friend who provides emotional support during the rigors of the campaign. Genny is.... she's the mistress who the candidate wants to lie low until the election is over. Luna is the crazy-ass idealist who helps you with the base and reminds you of your own idealism that got you into politics to start with. And so on...

My Dad's family is trying super hard to disprove that, though. (Not successfully, I might add.)

And now I'm going to check the online MyChart dealie all day to see if my results are back. There are 3-year-old kids who are better at waiting for stuff than I am. Sheesh. (Results not back yet.) (Yup, I already looked.)

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I'm barely into season 3, Consuela, and at this point I'm leery of getting attached to anyone as terrible things keep happening to my favorites.

I am not full of coffee and unable to respond effectively to the posts since then. Sorry about that, just had to get my two cents in on the zombies.

It would be hard to overstate how much I want to crawl back into bed right now. But I will not.

Why no egg mcmuffin Steph? You deserve it. And I am too lazy to go get one so I deserve one vicariously. (Also I don't actually know where the nearest McDonald's is anymore since they tore down the one near me)

I would have had to go way out of my way, and I just wanted to get home. Plus I really couldn't eat the english muffin part anyway.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I love egg mcmuffins with sausage, but am amazed by how much less tasty an alternate is if you swap out any one of the ingredients.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Interview ~ma, Amy!

Yay for really good (and well-deserved) feedback on your book, Gud! And thank you for all the great work you're doing on our Board.

Yay for swim lessons, Andi!

Yay for having enough migraine meds! Boo for having a migraine!

And from what I remember about shrift's schedule, it's that she has 7AM meetings AND 9PM meetings.

Oh, that's just not on. Late or early, but not both!

I'm nocturnal, too. I'd prefer never to have to do anything before 1pm. Mornings are for wandering around sipping coffee, puttering around in the house or garden, and reading the news. 2am is bedtime.

I haven't slept well for the past three nights, and everything seems to be separated from me by invisible cotton batting.

Perfect description. Between painkillers and allergy meds, that's how I'm feeling almost all the time lately.

I uncovered a massive design flaw at the core of one of our highly visible functionalities!

Oh, triple yay.

Much ~ma for your friend, Matt.

I would be seeing the doctor about possibly removing my cast today, but he had to switch the appointment to Monday. I'm hoping four extra days makes the difference and I can get the cast off. My leg feels fine, except I suspect the skin is numb right over my new metal bar. If so, hopefully that'll fix itself.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

I hope you can get the cast off, Zen. When I had ankle surgery, I was in a cast for 10 days, and that was plenty for me. Cast claustrophobia is totally a thing.
