What a mess, Dana.
What a different mess, meara.
I really don't understand how people live in the south. I just did one errand and approximately one minute of yardwork and I'm so sweaty and unhappy! I guess it would help if my house were airconditioned.

Air conditioning and cocktails.
Air conditioning and cocktails.
Ah, of course.
I am much better after a glass of ice water. I just really don't enjoy sweating if I'm not about to get in the water.
I have a Groupon choice to make. Kayak or stand-up paddleboard?
I vote kayak. My little brother is very happy with the foldable kayak he got.
This is just a 2 hour rental, not a purchase.
So, re politics. I've been listening to The Righteous Mind on my commute for the past week, and I've just gotten to the last bit, which is where he finally starts talking about why liberal and conservative value systems are essentially incompatible (and why conservatives have an evolutionary advantage when arguing from a moral platform, but also why we need balance). I'm trying really REALLY hard not to knee-jerk reject all of his pro-conservative arguments, and just listen to the overall message about how human brains work, but man, it's hard. It's also very obvious that he wrote the book in a pre-Trump era, because a lot of what he says about conservatives is depressingly out of date.
[eta: Oh right, Mitch McConnell. Anyway, using the framework of this book, McConnell is operating on the sanctity, fairness, and authority foundations, and more or less pretending that the care/harm foundation doesn't exist. Which is (a) the opposite of how liberal minds work and (b) a really fucking terrible moral ground for a healthcare system.)
Kayak or stand-up paddleboard?
SUP all the way. They are SO SO FUN.
I need some help for the hivemind. My uncle gave me some stock certificates found in my grandfather's stuff. They're in my name and my uncle's name, but he said I could have them. The company appears to still be in business, but I don't know the first thing about trading them in.
Bathnwas far less traumatic tonight! ltc still stood but she didn't scream or cry or try to get out and after she said, "I did it!"
