This is so nice. Having everyone together for my birthday. Of course, you could smash in all my toes with a hammer and it will still be the bestest Buffy Birthday Bash in a big long while.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

It sounds like the offer on our house will work out. We dragged them up on the price some, they dragged us down some, the realtors agreed to reduce their commissions to lessen our closing costs, and we're just ready to sell the damn thing.

So we didn't get all of the Scrappy house-ma, but we got enough, and I release it into the wild to whoever else needs it.

Our wings are not tired.

Yay for steps in the right direction, Dana!

Well done with the cleaning, -t. Sounds like you deserve a movie to me.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Glad to get that resolved, Dana!

Thanks, Laura. Maybe I'll do more after. Could happen.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I'll be seeing WW in 3 hours! I should get out and run some errands before then.

I am skipping my 30 yr HS reunion this weekend.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Went to the Washington Folk Festival today(and will be going tomorrow as well). Weather was lovely.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I gave the talked-up local restaurant with the enormous bland steaks another try tonight, this time for the beef tamales that everyone goes crazy over. I've had much better tamales out of TV dinners.

I don't know what's going on, usually I tend to like the food at places with really good reviews and when I dislike the food the restaurants tend not to last. But it's as if this one hypnotizes customers into believing the food is great and I'm not susceptible for some reason.

Thrive to spite them

I never heard of a proving drawer before GBBO but I want one.

I also want to noe why when I flip through cookbook I think..l'll make that for dinner next week and that and that! And when it comes time to make a grocery list pro go shopping nothing sounds good and it seems like too much trouble.

Coding and Sleeping

What the heck is a proving drawer? Do you put a mathematical concept in, wait 30 minutes, and then open it up to find the proof?

Thrive to spite them

You put dough into proof (rise) It keeps it at a consistent temperature and you don't have to go hunting for or try and create a warm spot

Someone should write a thriller called Fermat's Last Proving Drawer combining the excitement of number theory with the beauty of baking.

ETA I still prefer "proofing" but I'm not sure it works as well in this context
