Because books.

The gray one with the arm outflung and the other on his chest is pretty good, too.

not your mom's socks.

there is a rescued paralyzed kitten on instagram whose rescuer had a cart made (and also a crown) and the whole evolution is breaking my heart.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

I don't know if I'd want a house as big as the one mentioned upthread(at least not without a cleaning staff), but there are times when I'd like a bigger place. Right now we are trying to figure out where to put bookcases. Mr. S's room was the library, and we realize we better move all of the bookcases out. (Two have already been moved so we could move the crib against the wall) Add to that the bookcases Gary's getting from his dad, who is moving to Florida, and it starts to get difficult.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

They seemed to be advocating spelling things phonetically and not necessarily the same way across the board

Huh. That's very old-fashioned. I had not heard of that movement.

Having enough space for bookcases is a perennial problem.

brillig

I would have a library/office, a craft room, a guest room, a TV room--or rather a central TV location that could be seen from office and craft room, because I like having the TV on in the background--and a bigger than I thought I'd need kitchen, because cooking is becoming intriguing. And maybe some nice live-in person for occasional conversation who can manage cleaning and yardwork. I just realized I've described a "wife" you don't sleep with.

Because books.

This is a game I love.

My dream house would be not too big, and definitely cozy. But requirements include a walk-up attic (with a good window for a writing room), a front porch (with swing), a mud room/laundry room, a fireplace, a deep tub, and plenty of counter space in the kitchen (island!). Built-in bookcases wouldn't hurt, and lots of natural light.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

That's some bullshit, Vortex

You know what's REALLY some bullshit? They now say that they can't fix it. Because "the repair should be of the original quality of the bag". Hmm, or maybe because you shipped production of your goods overseas and you no longer have the expertise in-house to make a simple repair to the stitching of the bag.

FUCK YOU COACH. Yeah, I'm putting you on blast.

Right now we are trying to figure out where to put bookcases. Mr. S's room was the library, and we realize we better move all of the bookcases out. Ah, Buffista problems make me happy. We don't have 99 problems, we have 99 bookcases.

What? Wow. That's a pretty sad deterioration of a once fine brand.

Dream home: porch deep enough for a ceiling fan and furniture, some sort of round tower or room, natural light and natural dark (sky lights and picture windows, ideally), comfortable bathtub, big kitchen with lots of space for gadgets and workspace, easy access to the outside for old dogs, enough garden to putter in but not too much to manage...yeah, that's the important stuff.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

That is definitely bullshit, Vortex.
