Happy birthday yesterday, Gud!
Having a broken leg is no fun but I do enjoy having a built-in excuse to get out of meeting up with certain relatives. "Oh, sorry, I can't possibly get in there, I'll have to see you next time! No, please don't come over, I'm an awful mess and I'm just sleeping all the time! The drugz, you know!"
Use that excuse to the fullest, Zen! And let people fuss over you too. There needs to be an upside to this.
Happy belated birthday, Gud!
Timelies all!
Winding down the con. Need sleep.
Oh hey, was someone here looking for non-office-appointment therapy resources?
I was, Jesse, and those look like something to dig into. Thanks!
In one section of the local mountain range, there is 1314% of the typical snowpack for this time of year. Not a typo. Gosh.
Stayed up late, slept til noon. There was some awful dream involving Trump espionage that I was on the surveillance team for - bizarre.
So far I have et, taken out stinky trash (that is still lingering stinky despite lysol spray), and straightened up the growing # of boxes in my garage. DId I share that here? - longish story
My mom has a friend from highschool that has had health problems the last 5 or so years and mom has gotten more in touch with helping out and whatnot. It has become more and more clear that she (and her now deceased second husband) lived beyond their means for YEARS and did not deal with things. She dealt with less once he died, then the illnesses started. This year she was getting food from a food bank, while still paying for 2 mobile phones, having cable, having a 2 bedroom apt PACKED with stuff. At some point in all those years, hoarding tendencies got out of control.
My mom is a no nonsense type and cannot fathom all this (despite me being her daughter). Once she started to see what the reality was, she got into it. She and some other friends found this lady a smaller/cheaper place to live, she moves next weekend. For months my mom and others have been going every so often and cleaning and packing up this ladies place. There have been many many garage sales with her nearby friends - each sale brings $100 or so and pays another bill. Still there are boxes and boxes of stuff that have not been opened in years. So, I mentioned having a garage sale soon to get rid of pieces of furniture and more odds and ends - mom asks if I'd take this ladies stuff for sale also - sure I say. It hasn't been too much maybe 20 or so medium sized boxes -mostly dishes, Christmasy stuff, and decorative mish mash. Today my dad has a small pick-up truck bed full to bring me and unload.
anyway - tl-dr - I am taking end the good stuff from a hoarder's house to sell in a garage sale.
Inspiration to me, I have pulled out items from cabinets and have decide half of my own stuff in that garage (yard stuff, Christmas stuff, 2 area rugs) are also getting sold.
After the sale, I should be able to get two cars into the garage which will be good since mac may start driving in the fall.
It's kind of you to help your mother's friend, msbelle.
My weekend culling's been limited to three garbage bags full of stuff for the PTA thrift store. That's three bags of things I don't need leaving my apartment, so I'm calling it good.
I also put up some new solar lights on my front porch. [link]
Those are pretty, Calli!
H is visiting his mom and brother this week. His departure signalled the arrival of summer. I'm adopting the Spanish custom of rising early to accomplish stuff, a long nap in the afternoons which are unbearable without AC, and puttering some more after the heat of the day. Actually, I seem to be getting enough sleep and have more energy to do things than I did trying to soldier on through the afternoons.
That is great culling Calli.
I am trying to convince mac that he wants to go sit in a restaurant and eat with me. He remains unswayed, but he's GOT to be getting hungry.
