I'm so sorry, but if it makes you feel any better, my fun-time-Buffy party night involved watching a robot throw Spike through a window, so if you want to trade... no wait, I wouldn't give up that memory for anything.

ND that is terrible. Banks! Bah!

Brain usage is good but tiring.

I think things will be okay. I just have to plow through it.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Oh man, Kat. Grrr. I'm glad you were honest with your students.

Boo sucky work stuff for Kat and ND and Suela! Boo. I am telling myself one more work day until I'm on vacation.

Went to a cool bar tonight for a friend's birthday--it has all KINdS of arcade games and it's all free! Plus board games and pinball (pinball is not free, oddly). So we played rock band, and various car racing games and shootIng games and Street Fighter and a weird bowling game...

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

I am watching a PBS hour-long special about pie shops around the US. And now I need to make some pie.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

The incision is way less painful today, which is great. It's balanced out by all of the muscles that are like "what the fuck did you just put us through, why are we suddenly walking differently?"

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Yeah, the muscles aren't going to forgive you for a while.

But quick healing -ma!

Dana, how's the actual back pain/sciatica?

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Lazy day here. We're going to go to the Gaithersburg Book Festival for a bit, and later we're meeting Gary's dad and stepmom for dinner.

Oh, that's gone. The only challenge walking now is the muscles, and I guess the lingering loopiness from the anesthetic. Even with the surgery drama, I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

My husband yesterday said it was nice to have me back, and I said I was only gone for one night, but he meant that I was functional and could actually stand and participate in things.

Though I do still have some numbness on the ball of my foot and around the heel. The doctor said that it may take up to a couple of weeks to go away, and it may not completely go away. I'm hoping it does, because it's super weird being numb on that part of the foot.
