In other news it's Porchfest today, which used to be like, local musicians went out on their own front porches. Now it's a whole Thing and there are mobs of people drinking in public, and I Do Not Approve. On the other hand, I heard my friend play with my favorite brass band (for about one minute), and now I kind of want to join them. Not that I can play an instrument!

I'm sorry, tommy. Travel is exhausting and mourning is exhausting.
I'm so sorry, tommy.
I'm so sorry Tommyrot, but I'm glad you were able to be here for her and the rest of your family.
Well Mothers Day is looking to be a shitshow with Mac mad at me and threatening to ruin it for my mother by being an ass. He has now left the house at 11pm to walk over to a friend's house to get his phone charger. Refused to let me drive him.
We had a perfectly lovely day together too, he just won't accept rules and consequences. So I enforce a rule and he is zero to asshole in 5 seconds.
My condolences, tommyrot.
I'm sorry, tommyrot
And flea, I have so been there, it can all feel so hard and overwhelming sometimes. And yeah, I somehow don't have the perfect, over achiever kids. But I keep telling myself parenting isn't a sprint, we're in it for the long haul, and every kid matures at their own pace.
Love to all y'all, mimosas to them that enjoy them.
Between me wanting to see my mom today but having my a ton to do, my mom not wanting to impose on me, and my dad wanting to do everything and having no sense of how much time anything takes, today is going to be interesting. And I absolutely did it get up at dawn to start weeding the front yard so I am already behind. Maybe if I just stop sleeping for a few days...
You know, maybe it's executive function issues, but maybe it's just actually needing the rest. I have no idea how to tell.
Timelies all!
Happy Mothers Day to all Buffista moms and mother figures. Me, I'd like some me time, but that ain't happening any time soon.
Ugh. Someone just spent $700 on sneakers on my debit card.
