Because books.

Horseshoe crabs are pretty cool! I had no idea.

I'm sorry about the layoffs, Zen and Suzi. That's no fun to get through.

brenda's birthday does indeed sound awesome, as befits brenda!

In my news, almost-13-year-olds girls = oh lord, give me strength.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Today my coping mechanism has been a delux pedicure then I'm headed to Torrid to find some long yoga pants and a witchy t-shirt.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Sheryl, I'm glad Gary is coming home early. Destructo toddlers are exhausting. How old is the little guy now?

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Define complaints about quality.

The complaints I saw were about lack of coordination between different care providers causing problems, and about poor quality of nursing (with the implication that lower pay is drawing less qualified nurses; I don't know how the pay scales actually stack up).

No Canadian I've ever met would get within a mile of the US system.

This I actually have seen—more than one minor pro hockey player delaying their return home to Canada so they could get medical care under their US doctors. May have been something about familiarity with the team's doctors though.

ltc is walking too and completely fearless. She's also getting really good at taking off her clothes which she thinks is hilarious.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

Blah. Now that I've had a chance for my head to clear and look into it, the new diagnosis is bad news. It means my esophagus has become permanently damaged and I'm at higher risk for cancer. The full extent of what's going on will be revealed once the biopsies come back. No matter what, I've got some dietary changes ahead.

Oh, walking babies. ♥

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

You should hear the discussions happening in the government around this. No one thinks they can work for him, but at the same time we all swore an oath to protect the Constitution.

When Trump got the nomination I wrote out (in my head) a season of a very black comedy about an administration that realizes their newly elected President is insane and intent on destroying the world and they have to work overtime to thwart him. The only reason they don't actually take him out is because the NSA, CIA, FBI and Secret Service refuse to coordinate their efforts and they keep shooting each other.

It looks really strong that we'll flip the Senate. We need to gain four seats and two are definitely going to the Dems. And we just need to win two more out of five close races. Also Trump will probably hurt down ballot voting and depress Republican turnout. So...

I don't think we'll get the House because of Gerrymandering but getting the Senate will be huge for the Supreme Court. I just want Obama to pull back Merrick Garland as I don't want anymore fucking white men on the SCOTUS. Especially a moderate. I want every one of HRC's appointments to be women and POC. We got fucked bad by the 12 year run of Republican control of the White House from Reagan to Bush Sr. Now it's time to turn it around.

Ahhh, welcome to the exciting world of forehead goose-eggs and bruises!

Don't freak out. It happens to them all. They're very top heavy.
