Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

I just ordered three Johnny Cash CDs. Maybe I shouldn't do this at 4:30 in the morning. But then again, it's American III, IV, and V. Something about his aged voice, the combination of vulnerability and power, is even more compelling than when he was in his prime.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Much love to Pix, Drew and Sean.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

{{{ND}}} I'm so sorry that you have to try to set aside your grief for a time. That must be very difficult. Good luck with the review.

It's good to see you Liese.

Our wings are not tired.

For the moment at least I need to try to shake it off.

First, good luck on the project review this morning.

Being responsible and doing what you gotta do is another trait you shared with BC. He powered through despite life's burdens. Most of my interactions with BC were of the social variety where I was delighted by his charming good nature and bright wit. But he also clearly had a side we didn't see as often. He took great pride in his body of work, and deservedly so! I loved how he could make jokes about the absurd obstacles put in the way of him doing his job by bat shit crazy bureaucracy. A too short life that made an impact on many levels.

So I am trying to keep some optimism over this healthcare crap. Is this going to be like the previous zillion times they voted to repeal. This dies in the Senate, right?

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I'm sorry, Drew and Liese. I hope you can get through your days okay.

The Senate might pass something with significant differences and then it goes to conference committee to work out a compromise bill with the House. So this could go on quite a bit longer. I don't think there's a chance of getting this through the Senate in its current form.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I'm heartbroken today, for BC and for our country.

On the plus side, my Dad is out of surgery, back at home, and doing really well. Fuck cancer either way.

Huh. A defensive tackle on the KC Chiefs just followed me on Twitter.

That is good news, Jessica.

My brain is numb. It is all too much. FUCK cancer and FUCK ignorant people who can't see past their own noses.

I was reading through the list of "pre-existing conditions" that won't be covered and before I even got out of the A's, I had 4 or 5 things.
