My deepest condolences to all who have lost a pet recently. I had to put Lucky the cat down on Friday. Her CKD was being managed well, but she had two neurological episodes in less than 24 hours. They did bloodwork, and found that she was severely anemic, calling it life-threatening. No indication for the cause, and they said it probably wouldn't be treatable either. Rather than let her quality of life decline any further, we made the decision to let her go. I miss her every damned day.

My back is not miraculously better, but I think it's in pretty good shape considering yesterday's shenanigans, which involved me doing more lifting of luggage than I would have liked.

I am so sorry to hear the news about o_a. I am especially thinking of Drew and Kristin and Sean and others who were close to him in real life, and also those of you like Shir who were especially close online. I think of him as my particular tribe-- a Buffista who is also a theatre artist.

I met omnis in Seattle at the F2F, and I'm so glad I did. He's definitely someone I would have liked to have spent more time with if he lived closer.
