Can't even shout, Can't even cry. The Gentlemen are coming by. Looking in windows, knocking on doors. They need to take seven, and they might take yours. Can't call to mom, can't say a word. You're gonna die screaming but you won't be heard.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

The Peggy Sirota one for Rolling Stone? Also porn.

I love that one, too.

All right, I just had my last meeting of the day.

That's just not right.

So apparently the government won't be shut down this weekend. Which is good. Except maybe it will be next weekend instead? I can't even.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Dana, may the steroid injections be at least as efficacious for you as they were for Harvey. (They got him back on his feet and walking, and a year and a half after the injection his pain level is managed with oral medication)

The Internet of Things weirds me out. I don't want a smart TV, or fridge, or coffee maker....

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I have been to the mall to acquire pomade and a Mother's Day gift.

Time for that rockabilly quiff!

Not all Internet of Things devices are easily hacked if configured correctly. Stuff that you'd want to be secure like locks and cameras are generally capable of encrypted communication and it would take quite a bit of effort to intercept even unencrypted info over ZWave or Zigbee devices. Where you really run into trouble is a company that creates a device and does a really half-assed job on the app that connects to it.

Man, these meetings are so painful because my manager is terrible at running meetings. If she'd help guide discussion and then make decisions, they would be so much better. Instead, blather.

Whenever I'm in a meeting and I think of a point or, you know, a good humorous riff, I always have to weigh the value of speaking up to the risk of extending the meeting.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

FWIW, if you have the FB app on your phone, it's always listening *and* interrogating nearby devices (like, say, your friends' phones). (I do not have the FB app. Or Messenger.)

Would you like to come to my meetings? You could set a good example. My teammate's theory seems to be "If it's a point worth making, it's worth making eighteen times until we all long for the heat death of the universe."

And she's trying to drag me into another meeting. I am pretending to be away from my computer and ignoring her.
