Aw, yeah, the first Fast and the Furious movie is just starting on TV. I don't think I've seen it since the theater.

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Father-in-law update: he's moved to his new room on the assisted living side and went to eat lunch in the dining room and apparently is sitting with 3 other men and they're talking about sea turtles. Yay!
Don't know if he has more pants yet, though.

Men of a certain age do like gathering together and talking. Hubby would run into a complete stranger at the grocery store, and I and the other guy's poor wife would spend the next twenty minutes going "Honey, the ice cream's melting" and "Beloved, we need to get home."
And they call women chatterboxes.
My goodness, the dialogue in this movie. It has not aged well, presuming it was ever timely in the first place.
And Vin Diesel is like half the size he is now.
Woo, FiL! Talk about those sea turtles!
I maintain that's Chris Evans' finest role. FIGHT ME.
So I actually am going to argue this point, and surprisingly, not going with Steve Rogers or Jake Jensen with this one!
While he's been solid-to-very good in a number of roles, I am going to give his finest role placement to Nick Gant in Push.
(Finest on a number of levels, BTW. I'd say Peak Hotness as one, but as imperfect and weird a movie as it is, he may actually manage to look better in Gifted. Push is just a much better movie and I watch it as often or more often than Losers OR Winter Soldier.)
LOOK, I THINK ABOUT THIS A LOT.
Best Performance in a Shitty Movie? FF:RotSS
Best Shirtless Performance? WYN
Best Performance in an Elevator? Actually, fuck, this one is harder than it looks. Winter Soldier has the edge. BARELY.
Best Performance to Defeat Anhedonia? Teardrop Diamond
I maintain that's Chris Evans' finest role. FIGHT ME.
To be fair, I'm mostly kidding, though I have HUGE love for how willing he is to play the total tool that's Lucas Lee.
I've never watched Push, and if I get some damn free time, I need to rectify that.
Though I am inordinately fond of him as Cap, at least in the films not directed by Joss, because the man does not understand Cap on a fundamental level.
Best Performance in an Elevator? Actually, fuck, this one is harder than it looks. Winter Soldier has the edge. BARELY.
What's the runner-up?
A rematch of the Scott Pilgrim battle, perhaps?
I maintain that's Chris Evans' finest role. FIGHT ME.
I will fight you, if only because "Likin' the angle of the dangle?" is comedy GOLD.
I could not make it through Teardrop Diamond because dear gods that was terrible.
OH! I forgot Best Bearded Role which has to go to Snowpiercer
Tep, I'm not sure how people without my highly specific narrative and visual kinks react to Push but it's one of my active fandoms and I really didn't mean for it to be but it sort of hit a lot of my buttons and may have unearthed some new ones.
