And Kaylee, what the hell's goin' on in the engine room? Were there monkeys? Some terrifying space monkeys maybe got loose?

Did anyone else see 20th Century Women?

Yeah, I really liked it too. Though not quite as much as Certain Women (going for a bit of a Women theme here. Which means that of course I'm also going to see Wonder Woman when it opens here next week).

Because of different release dates, all of these films will be on my 2017 list, along with La La Land, Moonlight and the rest. My best film of 2016 was Arrival.

Still mad I didn't get to see Certain Women in theaters. Especially since I was doing #52FilmsByWomen last year. I hope I can stream or rent it soon.

BTW, one film on my list that I think many Buffistas would appreciate but I don't think has been talked about here is Busanhaeng (Train to Busan), a glorious Korean action-thriller-horror mashup with great character development. I believe it's being remade in English because of course. It's currently streaming on Netflix.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I've never even heard of Certain Women! But now I want to see that, too.

I'd heard of that megan, it's zombie sub-genre, isn't it?

Yes, and therefore not something I would usually like, but it is very taut, with individualized characters and decent social commentary.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I didn't love 20th Century Women, but it's been so long since I saw it that I can't remember what it was I specifically didn't love about it.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

According to the NYT daily briefing, Gal Gadot was pregnant when filming WW. Has anyone else heard that?

Well, it seems she gave birth to a daughter in March 2017 so yes, she probably was.

Wow. That's even more impressive, then.
