Wonder Woman was so much fun! We saw it with an appreciative audience of like-minded geeks*, and we clapped at the end. I found it very cathartic in the reversal of many superhero tropes, and dig the multi-culti not!Howling Commandos. They even had an actual Native American playing the Native American (okay, looked him up, and he is Kainai First Nations from Alberta)! What a concept.
* One dude was wearing a WW hoodie, a gold baseball cap with the WW logo, and a t-shirt with a *glowing* WW logo.
I cried at least twice during Wonder Woman, because I was so damn happy to finally SEE this story on the big screen. I cried during the
Amazon fight on the beach,
because they were so amazing, and I cried
the first time Diana ran into battle across No Man's Land
(I see what you did there, movie), because she was EVERYTHING I had hoped for.
Chris Pine is damn good-looking.

I saw Wonder Woman this morning. It was everything I'd hoped for and more.
The review on Smart Bitches Trashy Books commented that if you were wondering how much male nudity a movie could contain and still get a PG-13 rating, this will show you.

Heh.
I had SUCH a great time with this movie. I was choked up all through the
Wee Baby Warrior Diana scenes early on,
and completely lost it when A turned to DH after
No Man's Land
and whispered "Wouldn't it be cool if Wonder Woman were real?"
DH thought the
final battle between Diana and Ares
looked too much like
the Doomsday battle at the end of BvS,
but fortunately
I have completely forgotten everything about BvS even though I apparently watched it twice? Once in theaters and then at home when DH was reviewing the director's cut. And both times my brain just went NOPE NOT WORTH KEEPING THIS SHIT AROUND.

The answer is 'quite a lot,' as it happens.
Jessica, I read BvS as BtVS, and was like huh? With the ubervamps and the potentials and the earth caving in? I am confused.
I'm not sure I can wait a week to see it again.
Jess, I just watched
BvS
for the first time 6 days before we saw Wonder Woman, and I forgot pretty much everything about it. So I didn't even notice any similarities.

Me too, every time, even when it's me typing. That movie even ruins ACRONYMS.
Pretty much the only thing I'm trying to hold on to in my memory from it is how awesome Wonder Woman was. It was like a $250 million teaser trailer for this movie.
I should check the Googles and see if someone has posted only the Wonder Woman scenes from that movie, so I don't have to subject myself to the rest of it.
