Matt, 'Daleks in Manhattan' and 'Evolution of the Daleks' were his. The worst of the Martha-era ones, honestly. Set in Depression-era Manhattan and OMG.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Yeah, I remember the Pig Guy and the human/Dalek hybrid from those episodes, just not Andrew Garfield. I probably didn't know who he was back when it aired, but curiously that proved no barrier to having a vivid recollection of Tom Ellis from that same season.

He's the annoying one who's supposed to be from Tennessee or something! Wears a hat. Sucks.

I took one for the team and ahemed Hacksaw Ridge tonight.

It was good, but I don't think Best Picture good. Where the Hollywoodification of Hidden Figures hit me hard afterward, I felt it while watching Hacksaw. I can't even point to one thing, maybe the score was super manipulative.

Sam Worthington is the one who lost it for me on accents, I think. Might have been a similar looking other guy.

Watched 20th Century Women today and really liked it. Part of it was the time frame, but really there is so much to like about it. To start with, the casting is absolutely stellar. This film should have gotten more Oscar love than just screenplay.

Today's movies were 13th and Hell or High Water.

Hell or High Water was better than both LaLaLand and Hacksaw Ridge. Jeff Bridges was great and the music was wonderful.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I really liked Hell or High Water.

Saw Loving. It sat with me much like Brooklyn did last year. I liked it. There was a lot of silence. Obviously the story is very important and the racist assholes sound as stupid as those against marriage equality do.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

So, that Oscar show was cray cray right? I ended up staying for the entire thing and for once, it was worth it.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I went to bed at 10 when they'd just gotten to cinematography. Even if I had stayed up, I probably would have turned off the TV without listening to the whole La La Land speech, so I still would have missed it.
