Oh, I loved that movie but I have never rewatched it. Does have an air of inevitability, doesn’t it

Buffista Movies Across the 8th Dimension!
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
The Zendaya sexy tennis movie is quite enjoyable, even if the slo-mo camera made me want to smack the director in the face more than once. But the core relationship and lead performances are enough to make it work.
Look, I like Superman as much as the next girl. But do we have to do it again? I feel like we just got away from having to recount the story of Bruce Wayne's parents in every other movie.
Personally I'm onboard with whatever is necessary to leave the Snyderverse behind us as quickly as possible.
I've been onboard with that since my first viewing of Batman v. Superman, but I don't regard them throwing out well-cast and beloved actors with the bathwater as necessary.

Yes! Mostly because we haven't had a live action creative team who gets the character in freaking forever. And now we appear to have that.

Cavill looked the part, and I enjoy him in the right vehicle, but his strengths as an actor aren't the sort necessary for Clark. Weirdly, I think he'd have made a pretty decent Batman.
Someone online suggested the green and purple energy in the background of the Superman promo pic is Guy Gardener and Star Sapphire fighting, which could explain Supe's apparent lack of urgency.
ETA: Like he knows he needs to deal with it before it becomes a problem, but he's okay with Sapphire getting a few good licks in on Guy first.
I feel like every Buffista needs to see I Saw the TV Glow. Among the many other larger things this film is about, it is (almost) literally a movie about watching S5 (made by a director who has some strong feelings about S6).
