I'm still not sure how I feel about a movie version of that book but I suppose it was inevitable and, if so, I trust Kelly Fremon Craig. The Edge of Seventeen was so good.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I'm so glad it's a period piece (npi).

Apparently if you're enough of a power nerd, there is nothing that cannot be flowcharted.

I'm 50-50 on (1) being incredibly delighted and (2) wanting to run far and fast in the other direction.

I'm so glad it's a period piece (npi).

I remember the book already being dated by the time I read it (very late 70s-early 80s), because I was totally confused when the book talked about pads with belts. I was picturing, like, a leather belt you use to hold your pants up! (In my defense, I was 9 or 10 years old, and pretty much Amelia Bedelia.)

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

It'd be cool if Angela Bassett and Michelle Yeoh won!

But I think Cate is going to take best actress.

Kinda feel like Brendon is going to win. There's a lot of feel-good vibe around that performance.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

A fat suit and an actor's triumphant return? Hollywood eats that shit up.

Bring him back for another Mummy movie, along with the rest of the original cast, and *then* you're talking pure gold. But hard pass on the fat suit.

I completely missed The Banshees of Inisherin when it was released. I'll have to watch it on HBO Max.
