Thanks, I'll wait until I can watch it on streaming and fast forward to the bits Sigourney Weaver and CCH Pounder are in.
Buffista Movies Across the 8th Dimension!
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
yeah, I never saw the first one, I have no interest in this one
Sigourney was on Jimmy Kimmel last night, and thankfully nothing either of them said made me feel I have to see this at the cinema.
Speaking of movies I won't be paying money to see, Henry Cavill just broke the news that he won't be returning as Superman in future DCEU projects after all. So, looks like I'm going to be washing my hands of all those future films unless Gal Gadot appears in them as Wonder Woman.
We'll see if my level of resentment at James Gunn allows for seeing GotG3 by the time that hits theaters.
It doesn't make much sense, especially immediately after he returned to the role and seemed honestly excited about playing a non-sourpuss Superman.
The only thing I can think of is Gunn wants to completely start from scratch and go with younger actors. Which is a shame as the slightly older Superman with a family of the current comics hasn't been explored in the movies yet. (I know TV has the Superman and Lois show, but I burned out on the CW melodrama years ago so I haven't watched it.)
It probably has as much to do with Zaslav wanting to slash budgets as anything.
There is that, too. Get younger, less well-known actors for cheaper than you'd have to pay the stars with several films under their belt. We'll have to see if they can nail the casting as well as Marvel did when they took that approach.
Short of finding a way to resurrect Christopher Reeve I can't imagine they'll be able to find someone as good at being Superman as Cavill is.
If Cavill bailed on The Witcher specifically to make time for Superman, that kinda sucks for him.
Glass Onion has to be the timeliest movie ever. And in the span between its release in theaters and Netflix, even more so.
