that sounds like Taylor-Joy singing that stripped down version of "Downtown."
Edgar Wright confirmed that it was her singing on Twitter. I agree it looks good.
Oz ,'First Date'
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

Have just watched the new trailer for Ghostbusters: Afterlife; Paul Rudd is clearly living his best life.
Just nabbed tickets for The Green Knight this Saturday. I've heard good things about it. If COVID rates keep rising, this may be my last movie in a theater for a while, so I wanted it to be a good one.
Apparently Disney signed a contract with ScarJo that promised they would only show Black Widow in theaters. And then they broke that promise, and she isn't getting any profits from the Disney+ streaming. So she's suing for $50M.
I was just coming here to post Wonderella's reaction to that on Twitter: [link]
At last count, Disney's still not paying Alan Dean Foster royalties on all the Star Wars novels he wrote and published 40 years ago when Star Wars was Star Wars.
I'm still not subbed to D+ and have no plans to do so. I'm merrily aquiring as many of the old-skool 2D animated kids' movies on DVD and blu-ray as I can, because if I have it in my hands Disney can't tell me I can't have it. Are they still US purveyors of Ghibli? Pfeh.
Are they still US purveyors of Ghibli?
They are. But those are just worth owning.
And we do! Such largesse.
There's a not-Ghibli I'm on the fence about--5 Centimeters per Second. I waffle. It's $35 plus right now, I've never seen it, don't know if I'd like it enough to pay that.
I did just pick up the whole Cowboy Bebop series, to go with our movie, though. Also not Disney.
5 Centimeters per Second
We have that one!
It's very beautiful, but more like Your Name (set in a city, melancholy love story) than most Miyazaki.
It's the first one reviewed in this list which might help: [link]
Some non-Ghibli movies we've liked recently are...
The Girl Who Leapt Through Time
Wolf Children
Summer Wars
Ride Your Wave (really gorgeous, and affecting)
Children Who Chase Lost Voices (probably the most Miyazakian in style/theme. Does have a sad death in it): [link]
If you have AppleTV+, then Wolfwalkers is worth checking out.
