I said this on Facebook, too, but I'll say it anywhere: Snowpiercer is the single most visually astonishing movie I have ever seen. As I said there, I wanted something that could stop me from blinking so that I didn't miss a single frame.
Older-but-striking: Delicatessen, The City of Lost Children, Brazil...
I may have a type.
Ooh, City of Lost Children, how could I have forgotten that? Good one.
Yes, Brazil! A wonderful usage of imagery. I was thinking more on the line of gorgeousness rather than image as storytelling device.
Until the title card at the end of this trailer I thought it was a remake of Clue.
I've seen GIFs from the movie, including the famous "flames... on the side of my face..." one, but hadn't actually seen the damn movie until last night, when I found out it was streaming on Amazon Prime.
It was an ABSOLUTE GAS. I hadn't laughed so much at a movie in a long while. Just, every word out of Madeline Kahn's mouth! And that last long reenactment gag! How does Tim Curry speak so fast?!
A++ will watch again when I have some company over.

I AM EXCITE!! I really like the Gilliam Armstrong version with Winona Ryder except I never quite got over how spitfire Kirsten Dunst could turn into limp-wristed Samantha Mathis as Amy. Looks like they have Florence Pugh playing Amy throughout, which is a smart play, I think. I think that's the bit of casting I'm mostly psyched by, although Ronan and Chalamet as Jo and Laurie look terrific together.
It looks so pretty and the costumes are great! It's a December release and I don't think it's playing in the festival circuit although I would be tickled pink if I could see it early.
It also has Meryl Streep as Aunt March ... (and Laura Dern as Marmee)
Hobbs & Shaw is exactly what I want out of a summer movie (that isn't a Marvel movie). That was a ton of ridiculous fun. You got Idris Elba. You got Mr. The Rock. You got Jason Statham. What's not to love?
Richard Linklater is filming Sondheim's Merrily We Roll Along in real time. It will take him 20 years to complete.
