Zoe: Yeah? Thought you'd get land crazy that long in port. Wash: Probably, but I've been sane a long while now, and change is good.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

That's the point where he's probably revealed himself as a fake geek boy, unless he specified a specific run.

Yeah, didn't Gail Simone write a run that was probably pretty good?

Wait, no, I'm thinking of Secret Six.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I mean, they're probably thinking just New 52, but damn it, the Squad has HISTORY.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Wait, no, I'm thinking of Secret Six.

That was SO GOOD.

damn it, the Squad has HISTORY.

Here's a rundown: [link]

It was probably the best comic that DC put out in the 1980s.

Whoa, Tom, that was a great read, thanks!

I didn't know that's how we got Oracle!

Also...it seems like that 1980s run is basically the reason it's popular? It's...the only good run?

Well, SAUSAGE PARTY was extremely crude, but I have to admit that I laughed a lot.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Every time my son sees those Sausage Party ads I have to explain the double entendres to him.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

My work friend who loved Ghostbusters (and said Holtzmann reminded her of me, so that's awesome) also said Suicide Squad was really good and made her son cry. In a good way, I inferred. So I don't know what to think.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I'm just going to see it with the attitude of enjoying a bunch of strung-together cool music video moments, as promised by the trailer. I'm not really invested in any of the characters except Waller, and every second of Viola Davis' performance that I've seen previewed looks to be spot-on for her. And if the Joker turns out to be annoying and pointless, well, I knew going in that it was Jared Leto playing him.

I saw it, and had a decent amount of fun. It turned out to be a lot more coherent and enjoyable than reviews had led me to believe. And while Heath Leger's legacy is in no danger of being eclipsed, the Joker wasn't awful and didn't ruin the movie (putting Leto one up on Jesse Eisenberg).

My biggest problems were that Amanda Waller was depicted as having terrible judgment and engaging in murderous CYOA antics rather than just being ruthlessly pragmatic (no knock against Viola Davis' performance though, she did a great job with terrible writing for her character), and Rick Flagg really was wussified to an unbelievable degree. So, writing continues to be a weak point for the DCU, but performances and cinematography were great.
