Little Stranger: a moody little gothic horror that's not particularly scary but has interesting things to say about grief and envy and class shift in post war England.
I liked it, but not particularly scary is right.
Cordelia ,'You're Welcome'
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

A bunch of exchanges later, the final TIFF schedule! [link]
I fear I've bitten off more than I could chew. 29 films in 9 days are definitely too many. I did make a point of not scheduling anything after 9 PM after the halfway point, but will probably end up skipping some screenings for the sake of stamina and sanity.
YAY and also YIKES
Wow, that is a lot! I'm looking forward to hearing the tales.
My next project should be to go through this thread and watch all the movies recommended.
That would be amazing
That would be quite the project. The number of films mentioned in thread that I have yet to see is considerable. Retirement, or say recovering from leg surgery might be required to carve out that time.
I did have this fantasy that I could catch up on reading or movie watching when I was recovering from foot surgery. Alas, my pain killer fuzzed brain couldn't focus enough. UNFAIR.
I assume this project would include reporting here on what you watch and so forth
The Academy comes to its senses, or at least starts to: [link]
Good.
I would not be surprised if they (as the author surmises) quietly drop the idea later. (Edited because autocorrect is stupid.)
RIP, Burt Reynolds.
Eastbound and down.
