Aw, shoot, I was thinking of going to see Jason Bourne.

It really depends on your tolerance for action sequences. I could cut them down radically in almost any movie. Here they are just not believable and go on forever. My favorite thing about the Bourne films is him outsmarting his opponents and/or the puzzle of it all. That just isn't what this film is.

Also, more serious potential spoiler: the first thing my critic friend said to me after it was over was "Does that count as fridging?"

How bad is the shakicam?

It's not as bad as #3 I don't think. (Though it starts that way so my friend just laughed because I had just been complaining about the flashback scenes in #3 before the movie started.)

Honestly, IMO, the action scenes were such a shit show overall that I can't say shakicam was a big problem, because there were SO MANY others.

Tom,

I think the treatment of the tech stuff in this movie will kill you before the shakicam does.

Honestly, the more my friend and I talked about this movie, and the more I think about it now, the more ridiculous it gets.

I just went to check the Tomatometer, which is already many points lower than last night and I think this reviewer sums it up best: "Simultaneously pretentious, mind-numbingly tedious, and dizzyingly incoherent from scene to scene, Jason Bourne is the definition of diminishing returns." Preach.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I really just wanna know what happens to Bourne and Nicky. I'll wait for the DVD.

About that, don't watch this movie at all. Seriously, just pretend it was never made.

I hate to say someone shouldn't see something but I guess that's where I am with this one. Maybe I just had too high expectations, especially after last summer, but this summer season has been a bit of a dud so far and I thought I could at least count on Bourne. And the cast seemed so promising.

In short, everyone go see Les Innocentes.

Well, that's too bad. I'll give it a miss entirely then.

brillig

A question re: access to older movies:

I want to see "Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol", but I don't want to buy it (I just want to ogle Jeremy Renner's ass for a while). It's not on Netflix, it's not in any of the Redbox thingies I check. Is this the time to check Amazon for streaming options?

edit: OK, revised question. I don't have the streaming devices that Amazon wants me to use, I just want to watch it on my computer. Do I have an option other than Amazon?
