Thank you!!! We're going with two friends, one of whom was there a couple of years ago and one who hasn't been out of the country since she went to Spain in high school back in the 80s! Super excited!!!

Took a minute while packing to finish opening my secret santa treasure trove! As I was suspecting, gifts were from smonster (postmarked Raleigh but everything had a New Orleans feel). Thank you, Nice Lady!!!!! Love everything and would love to come down to see you soon! Maybe sometime this year, I hope! XO

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

iceland is incredible. Spend lots of time in various hot water pools enjoying the thermal spring everywhere.

As a sidenote (reading about the best socks ever) I once found some that were perhaps a runner-up - socks with, knitted in, "Dear Santa ... I Can Explain". Bought them for several friends and my sister ... somehow neglected to get my own pair. sigh ....

My finances have been extremely tight this year, so I've had to keep non-essential spending to a minimum. However, the B&N down the street from my office is closing and just about everything's drastically reduced, so I bought myself a present. A sonic screwdriver. It lights up and makes noises. Unfortunately, it doesn't do anything terribly useful, but I'm having fun with it.
