Jack and I went adventuring today. We went to check out a local doggie day care in preparation for a trip up to Cheyenne this weekend. He is still pretty shy, but she took him back to introduce him to some of the other dogs and see how he interacted and she said he did great.

Then we realized he didn't have one of his vaccinations, so off we went to the vet for a nasal spray thing.

Now K-Bug and I are ready to go to Cheyenne Frontier Days and see Miranda Lambert. Wooo-hooo!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Ugh, why do I still have a migraine? It came on yesterday, so I figured would be gone this morning, but no. It's not bad, certainly not bad enough to stay home, but annoying!

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

That's rough, Jesse. I hope you feel relief soon.

Thanks! Perimenopause is for the birds. (I assume that is what is going on, as over the past year or so all of my hormonal stuff has been changing.)

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Ugh, Jesse, I hate those. I'm always so torn when I get those - like I probably should go lie down, but really it's not that bad, but then why am I constantly complaining (inside my head if not out loud) if it's not that bad? That's bad enough, right? But so much to do, I can just power through.

I don't know what the answer is. I hope it goes away.

Meanwhile, I am being all fancy and having whipped cream on my coffee because I can.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

The AVG antivirus people finally got back to me about the virus on my work computer. But it looks like it's too late, as the computer has stopped working completely.

So, I should do an Anna report....

Anna works as a housecleaner. She says she's content doing this, but she doesn't make much money. She doesn't have a phone and she can't afford the electricity and gas to run a fridge and oven. (She does have a hotplate.) She doesn't want me to spend money on her, but she's good at coming up with things to do that don't cost money.

So it's kinda' weird seeing someone who makes a lot less money than me. It's made me realize how lucky I am to be paid well.

That can be hard to navigate, a big difference in income. Sounds like you are off to a sensible start about it.

I am back in testing today, although my department had a deadline to finish all our testing yesterday so I don't know what I am supposed to be doing today. Hm.

That sounds rough--no oven isn't weird to me but no fridge?!? Ouch. Best of luck to her.

The guy who did my patio came over this morning to finally bill me for power washing/painting the porch (which he did back in May--I have no idea how he stays in business, he's so random about billing and stuff! Though admittedly, it ended up being $460 for some weeding/trimming, and the porch). For all that, I'm so glad my friend recommended him, he's just done a fabulous job and my patio makes me so happy (since it's been really hot this summer I've been having breakfast out there, when I'm home--last year it wasn't warm enough really until afternoons to hang out there!)

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

I have too much going on and I know I'm starting to unspool from lack of down time. Yesterday I was on a shuttle by 5:50am and got to the hotel around 9:45pm. So the fact that I'm panicky because apartments keep getting rented before I even have time to see them makes sense.

I'll just take some deep breaths, keep calling places to schedule visits, and get myself a burrito for lunch.
