Is there a way on Facebook to just block posts about Rodan +Fields? They make me irrationally angry! I guess I will just block the friends?
Natter 74: Ready or Not
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Ugh. The best SF librarian called in sick, which means I really need to go to work, and I don't wanna. Stupid Monday
I think there might be? There's a "Hide posts like this" option, sometimes, or something like that, which might help, but I'm not sure how you get to it.
I was thinking I need the ice machine working cat at work to help me with my poinsettia, but cats + poinsettias = bad, so I guess not.
Considering how I felt this morning, I am going to attempt being a 10pm bedtime tyrant this week.

Click on the little down arrow thing in the upper right corner of the post, and you should see options to hide or block posts from R&F. One of my friends has become a distributor/pusher for R&F and it's so annoying. I gave in and bought one of their eye creams, and no, it isn't Magic Unicorn Youth Dew, it's just overpriced.
My boss is trying to gaslight me. Last week she told I was getting a new journal, ahead of official assignments (which would be next year). So I set up a phone meeting with the current editor to learn the new shit. Today she's all, no don't talk to M. yet, and no you aren't getting the journal immediately, why would you think that? WTF. Because you didn't tell me a start date, and you didn't tell me to keep it a secret, and you said it all over the phone so there's no way for me to go back and check exactly what you did say. After 15 years of this crap, I should have learned to confirm every single thing with her by email.
Oy, Zen.
I just learned that gaslighting is related to carbon monoxide poisoning. Or that gaslights produce carbon monoxide and I assume that has something to do with the term. That's probably it. But, anyway, hope your boss isn't actually poisoning you!
Off to the dentist to check on all the teeth that haven't been needing emergency treatment. I suspect we will be making a time-consuming and expensive plan for treatment after, um, a decade of not going to any dentist at all...
And now I know there was some drama llama, and Big!Boss requested this journal be taken away from the current editor and given to me. All righty then. No pressure. But I already know the Editor-in-Chief and he likes me, so I'm not worried about it.
Did you hear that? I'm not worried!
My boss is not poisoning me, unless stress counts.
THe problem with the Rodan and Fields thing is that they are personal posts by the friends-- so I can hide or unfollow the friend, but not hide just their posts about R + F, which I think is a scam in a "turn two, the rest are food" sort of way.
ETA-
I see now that I can see fewer posts like this (although I think it just means I see fewer posts from that person???)
Oh- and in weird campus lunch news, I kind of want to order the buffalo chicken panini, but last time I did, the panini was covered in rosemary, which was really not good. The other option a vegan chickpea stew, and the cafeteria is so hit or miss with flovorings, that I think it will either have no flavor, or have a weird flavor.
