Because books.

There's always general fussiness, but when they're gnawing, whether it's on a fist or a board book or whatever, I usually figure their gums have to be sore.

I wish I lived closer. I'd be happy to distract a fussy baby for you!

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Yeah, Jane has been doing the drooling-and-gnawing-on-fists thing for at least a month, maybe more?

And really, you might as well say it's teething, if the alternative is "who knows why," right?

Exactly -- not much to be done about it either way anyway! If you really think her gums are hurting her, you could always try some Orajel, though it never seemed to do much for Rose.

So we had a great time with Liese and honorary Buffista J and Gris and family yesterday, and Liese surprised me with a birthday gift: a copy of Updraft! Yay! I can't wait to read it!

Off to dig out the shop vac, so I can vacuum the inside of my vacuum.

Vaccuumception!

I hate how much work it takes just to keep things to a bare minimum of cleanliness. And then we have this house that needs an incredible amount of work, but once we have clean clothes and dishes and groceries, I am sort of tired.

Yeah, that's what I figured. Suddenly everything is going in the mouth, and she was eating extra yesterday and it felt more like she just wanted to chew than actually eat.

That would be awesome. ltc really enjoys when her buffista aunties snuggle her. Although, I really can't complain to much about fussiness. She smiles, even when she is obviously unhappy.

Vaccuumception!

This is better than my vacuum vortex!

Oh yep. I am admittedly a lazy housekeeper, but the effort to keep the house from descending into chaos is too much some days. As it is, I am so glad my friend cancelled for dinner and Downton today because this vacuum ordeal has taken way too long and the kitchen is a mess.

My mother comes over once a week to see ltc, but I'm ashamed to admit I let her do a lot of cleaning while she's here. There's just no time or energy in the day.

What the hell is going on today? After having to go to two separate stores to get the right vacuum cleaner bags, I just had a weird encounter with some guy in a pick-up. He claimed that he thought I was someone named Judy, but he was super weird even for someone who is allegedly chatting to someone he knows.

Once I get my bedroom back together, I am getting in my bed and never getting out again.

Yikes, Sue. I'm sorry you're having such a weird day.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

The little guy has been drooling and trying to stick his fist in his mouth for a while. No teeth in evidence. (He's just past three months)

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Frozen baby carrots work for teething puppies, so I'm certain that's directly transferable to baby humans.
