Natter 74: Ready or Not
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
That's hilarious Steph. I have a thing about beards in that I'm not particularly attracted to them. I blame living through the 70s for that one. But now that beards are in style? I genially offered Cody that I would be fine if he grew a beard as long as he kept it a trimmed beard. (And really, I meant it too.) But he knows me too well, so he said some song and dance about not wanting a beard.
But really, question for the men here? Do all men prefer beards? I assume that most do, if not all.
I wear a beard strictly for vanity—it gives me the illusion of a stronger jawline. If that weren't the case I'd probably shave at least every 3 days for comfort.
That's why I think DH doesn't need one, Matt. He has a lovely chin with a bit of a cleft in it. But even men with lovely chins grow beards too.
So what is everyone doing this weekend?
Working.
Hooray Maria! That's such great news.
So what is everyone doing this weekend? I am working so I need to live vicariously through you.
I'm purifying myself in the waters of Lake Minnetonka. Or rather, I'm going to a conference in Minneapolis, so nonstop work for the next five days.
I actually just got home from work, because everyone at my university has lost their minds, so I haven't done laundry or packed yet, which is not optimal.
Ginger, I hope the medical procedures are less annoying than they have been.
The BF has a goatee and moustache. So did Rob. I evidently like facial hair, but it's not a make or break thing. Both prefer(ed) it to shaving.
Now that I've come down off of the high, I'm feeling a bit of dread about the other shoe dropping. I have no indication it will, but welcome to my mind. It's like I'm waiting for it to go all wrong, because it's my luck.
I like the look of facial hair on some men (Tom Mison, yes; big huge hipster beards, NSM), but on the man whose face I am kissing, I am anti-beard.
Tim's facial hair is in the stage where he looks like a hobo. And it's been well over 10 years since he last had a beard, and he is appalled at how much silver is in it. *I* think he's a silver fox, and he's resigned to the silver in his hair, but he's not fond of being greybeard. (We call the dog that since he's got grey fur on his chin.)
I'm feeling a bit of dread about the other shoe dropping.
I never learned to see good news as the balance to previous bad news. I've always expected good news to be the precursor of bad things. I get very anxious when good things happen or when things are going peacefully.
he is appalled at how much silver is in it.
When Hubby had a moustache last, people kept asking him why he was dying it grey. Men's hair is weird, nearly everyone I know who's had a beard had it a more or less different color than the head hair.
permission to expense a nice dinner and drinks with whomever I want.
OOh! I know some verrry nice places (and people) in Baltimore!
I love oysters raw! Little gulps of the sea!
Tomorrow is farmer's market, then we are going on a Doors Open Baltimore bike ride ending at the neighborhood brewery. Then a friend's party, then a beer-themed book reading. Busy!
Hopefully, some chilling out on Sunday.
