Hah, Dana FTW. Medicine, it's wibbly-wobbly science-y stuff.

It's almost 10am and between checking in (I wasn't in the system) and catching up on email from my PTO on Friday, I'm just now about to start the actual work I'm here to do. And I really don't wanna. And I don't like the emails I got (which said things I didn't want) and really dislike the emails I DIDNT get but should have (send me answers already!!). Sigh. Freakin Monday.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

I am not, unfortunately, allowed to reply with "Hahahahahah NOPE."

Oh wow, that would be lovely. I dream of being able to do that myself.

Ugh, brenda. I can't understand people who want to fight it with "cleaner air and food." While it certainly helps to take a holistic approach, I'm also not going to discount sound medicine backed by science.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I can't understand people who want to fight it with "cleaner air and food."

I get filled with such raaaaaaaaage at people who rail against "Big Pharma" and how doctors are in cahoots with Big Pharma to make up diseases just to diagnose people so they'll have to take drugs for the rest of their life.

Or MAYBE, you asses, people don't die from infections they way they used to because we have antibiotics. You know how our life expectancy jumped in the modern medical era? What do you suppose that's about? NOT THE PALEO DIET.

I mean, eating healthy food is a good thing, and if someone feels better eating paleo/gluten-free/vegan/whatever, that's a good thing. But damn, son, if you get pneumonia or cancer of the everything, coconut oil is NOT going to fix it.

Hubby always got people who said "I know a guy, he's got a motel room on the other side of town because Big Pharma is looking for him to shut him down, but he can cure you without those poisons." His reply: "So why haven't the rich people with family members with cancer not found him and set him up in style? Why haven't the philanthropists who hate cancer not spread the word?" "Because they're just in it for the power and money, this guy just wants to help people." Right.

I had a lot more rage about his treatments than he did.

But, full disclosure, I do love me some coconut oil. Yum.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I'm going to be giggling at how editing is more detail-oriented than medicine for a while. That's terrific.

Second cake sitting out in the second kitchen. *It is a Monday of many cakes. Turns out I do not care for Tuxedo Cake (although I did finish the piece I took, because waste is bad, mkay), maybe this Coconut Cake (made with life-affirming coconut oil? Unclear) will be more to my taste.

Very cool costume idea, tommyrot! Every girl's crazy 'bout a sharp-dressed dragon.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Every girl's crazy 'bout a sharp-dressed dragon.

Anne's gonna go as a hippy chick. Our story is that when walking the world of men, dragons often employ hippy chicks as familiars. Because if I'm wearing the claws, Anne would have to buy drinks for me.

OMFG, we still haven't paid for the vehicle that the client is bitching about! I sent over the paperwork and authorization on 9/18, and their PO was issued 9/25. I can't even. THIS is why the client doesn't have the registration paperwork--because the damned car isn't technically ours yet.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Welcome to my world of parents with special needs kids. I have a coworker whose kid was hospitalized for not gaining any weight due to gastroparesis and they wanted to go with solving it by different foods and not meds. Um? gastroparesis means the food isn't working!
