We stopped after dinner to feed the ducks, and there was one all-white duck who was exceptionally friendly. At first I thought it had some kind of wound around his neck, but it was some kind of band. So then we wondered if someone was tagging the birds in some way, but none of the other ducks had anything. My husband, who is more intrepid than I am, managed to grab the duck, and he stayed calm enough for us to see that it was some kind of kid's rubber bracelet. So we took it off.
I figure either someone was playing around and put it on him, in which case it was good to take it off, or he's...someone's pet? But it wasn't any kind of ID, so it shouldn't prevent him from returning home if he lives near by.
Also, he tried to follow us back to the car.

Goats and ducks!
I overslept this morning, but still got the kids on time. But of course, they were running late because the middle girl wouldn't get out of bed and then they were so talky and sniping at each other, but by god, I got them to school on time even if I had to stop by the house on the way home because I forgot to put on work shoes and mascara. And coffee. The last one was the bad one.
The last one maybe caused the others?
So, my friends' wedding in a couple of weeks is a mile from the subway. Cab, right?
Home from vet. Squeaky did
not
need her tooth extracted, just an ultrasonic cleaning. She did need anesthesia though. She wandered around groggy for a bit; now she's sleeping on my lap.

When the dog and one of the cats needed anesthesia for a teeth cleaning a few years ago, the dog was totally groggy after we got home, and he zonked out on his bed. The cat, however, kept walking briskly from room to room, like she was late for an appointment and just couldn't remember where. This was notably weird, because this is the uber-lazy cat. The slothcat. I think she just had a paradoxical reaction to the anesthesia, and it was hilarious.
Heh.
Squeaky also stared at her food bowl for ten minutes without eating anything.
When both Pumpkin and Loki came home from dental work stoned, I characterized Loki as a stoned frat boy " duuuuuuuuude, the colors. The wall is sooooo niiiiice. I love you, man. Booooox. I can't feel my tail. I have no tail." and Pumpkin as the annoying stoned girl " Hi! HI! OMGAWD, haveyouevertriedchewingiceITISSOAWESOME. Hey, was that a bird? I really like milkshakes! Your hair is so shiny! Can I touch it? Oh, is that food?"
I get like that after anesthesia (like Squeaky, that is).
Yes to cab to wedding. Unless it's really super casual.
OMG football!

Did you set some kind of a record?
Allentown, I am in you! We got here at a nice hotel, Courtyard Marriott, and I promptly laid down and took a two and a half hour nap because I was running on empty.
Woke up groggy, but able to made words. And get ready for gourmet pizza with D, his MiL, M, his siblings and E's mom.
It's was very cordial, and I am mature enough to be pleased by this.
So far, -ma is working!
There's a pool here, but a little one. I think I'll take a quick dip, then a hot shower, and watch free HBO til I fall asleep.
I'm not nervy about my outfits anymore, because confidence is the best beautifier!
My anxiety is almost null, and I am very pleased! Go, team me, go team healthy coping strategies!
Thanks for-ma, and for support - every time I think negatively. I channel y'all, and I feel your hope and I think "What would the Buffistas advise?"
I'm so excited to see my darling boy knock the ball out of the park. I'm so proud of him!
And M's mom and I are being cordial in what seems like a genuine way. I can't guarantee that will never clash on anything again, but I've decided that hate is a destructive emotion, and that I am going to try to be a good person and release hateful feelings.
