My god, why is it only Wednesday?
I know, this week has already been approximately 3 million years long.
But so much more accountability.
That's what I meant. You deserve a raise. And congrats on getting your previously shafted team member a raise, that is awesome!
Researching a $4 price discrepancy from a year and a half ago is SO FUN AND WORTHWHILE. I'm glad it didn't turn out to be something that happened while I was on vacation, at least, because I did take a week off in the middle of that month and I would hate to have to blame my backup (I don't actually know who I am blaming right now, gremlins in the software is what it looks like, although ultimately it is the customer who sent us their orders with a higher price than they were supposed to, so to my mind it is their fault, but I think we were supposed to have something in place to catch that, but NOT MY BACKUP'S FAULT is good) but the orders came in around my vacation, not during.
YAY Brenda!
The only reason I have my own work credit card here is that I am the only librarian here. SF has to share one, and sometimes they borrow mine when theirs isn't working.
Yay Brenda!!
Not having a company card is really awkward for anyone who has financial issues. If you can't afford to charge on your own card and wait for reimbursement, or you only have a debit card??
Especially if it's a matter of book the travel in advance, have to pay the credit card bill before you even travel, and then wait a couple of weeks to be reimbursed after submitting the expense report. Sucks mightily.
My two senior full time employees have business credit cards
If I can't trust them with the credit card, I have no idea how I could trust them to handle our clients.

Yeah, that's the thing. Now, in our department, one senior person has said he'll put stuff $100+ on his card, but STILL. I hate asking anyone to front anything.
I just got back from a trip to NYC and I had to book the hotel (financial district, people, and they require you to pay up front) AND airfare 6 or 8 weeks before the trip. So I have carried $1200 for work for 2 months. I mean, we're rich, and I still am bothered by it. I was terrified something would happen and I wouldn't be able to go on the trip ad work would be like "oh well!" (because they totally would.)
That's ridiculous!! At least I'm pretty sure our airfare is charged centrally.
