Now, I can hold a note for a long time...actually I can hold a note forever. But eventually that's just noise. It's the change we're listening for. The note coming after, and the one after that. That's what makes it music.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

That's more casual than what I usually see people wearing at bar mitzvahs, but you should wear what you're comfortable in.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

If it's more casual than usual, then I wouldn't be comfortable in it. Hmm. Thanks, Hil. I think I will have to go shopping; the only things I have left that are dressier are decidedly not appropriate, as they are either sequined or too cleavagey.

I will Google, but any ideas about appropriate wear are welcome. (Is the owl dress OK for rehearsal dinner?)

ETA: Talked to M's mom, and yes, I do have to go shopping for both Friday and Saturday. Poop. I will head to some very nice consignment ships in the area tomorrow.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Good luck finding something appropriate, Strix.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

I am many years behind on The Good Wife. Can I just jump back in?

I think you probably can. Pretty much rebooted this season and I think you can figure out the new status quo from context pretty quick.

I love my vet. Emailed them this weekend to let them know about Pumpkin's misadventures (mainly to get it into records) and they replied assuring me it sounded like the treatment plan was right, but they'd like to see her after a week. And to let them know if the ecollar is a problem. (Only in that she drinks from the toilet then uses the litterbox. It's kinda gross. I had to burrito her while I cleaned the cone. And I just cleaned house.)
