I went to make my usual rice and quinoa mix for my lunches this week, only to find I have less then half a cup of rice and no quinoa. Not quite sure what I'm going to do for lunch tomorrow. If it had been earlier in the day, I might have gone back to the grocery store, but it was late and I just threw up my hands.
Guess I'm hitting the grocery store tomorrow.
Done! Done writing the fairy tales for the Kickstarter! All I have left to do is write 2 summaries for the kids' book, and I am COMPLETELY finished with my work.
Other than the endless spamming of my social networks about the project, so we can get funded. Ah well, this is part of why I was brought onto the project.
Beet pesto is in the freezer along with zucchini and black bean burrito fixings! And I still need to blanch more zucchini and do something with the cauliflower, oy.
I can't deal with cooking after work at all, and also cooking for just one is not the best. So I have to have food I can just eat.
Yeah, I'm finding with the long commute + stress that I'm making terrible food choices lately and my weight has crept back up, so I'm trying to help myself along by making a bunch of healthy stuff I can just reheat, no excuses.
Also, I bought too much at the farmer's market last Sunday and I'll be out of town for a week.
Woo hoo, Jilli! I sense some celebrating in our future. (SO EXCITED TO SEE YOU SOON.)
Ugh, Burrell, sorry.
I ran a half marathon this morning in BRUTAL heat (we started at 6 a.m., and I still felt like I was going to die by mile 9), so I did a lot of flopping this afternoon. But I was very good and did several hours of my grad class work including getting a jump on next week, so I’ve got that going for me.
I teach all five classes in a row tomorrow (7:50 - 3:00 with one 40-minute lunch break), so I’ve decided I’m done with work now. I’m going to watch this week’s Doctor Who, eat Indian food, and go to bed as soon as possible.
Sounds like a plan, Pix. Admirable running in this heat!

MY PEOPLES I GET TO SEE THEM! EEEEEEE!

Go you! ... wait, BRUTAL heat?
goes and looks at the weather reports
Oh ... dear. I'm gonna rethink what I'm planning on packing. Dammit, this means no velvet for going to see Crimson Peak.
The bad heat will be done by Tuesday. It will be in the 80s and less humid by the time you get here with 60s at night.
Today in Pasadena it was 103, which is RIDICULOUS for this time of year. But yes, I think velvet is still likely a bad idea.
Here in lovely Vermont the high should be 73 Monday.
