We get food trucks here at work, but I'm too cheap to buy from them for lunch.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

When I have to get up at night, I don't turn any lights on to fool myself that I am not awake. Once, DH (a very deep sleeper) came shuffling into the dark bathroom, and I said, "I'm in here." There was a long puzzled pause and he said "Why are you sleeping in the bathroom?" When I explained that I was just there to pee, he sounded even more confused. "How can you pee in the dark?"

Men need more visual assistance for aiming.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I don't like to turn on lights any brighter than candlelight at night, or else my brain thinks it's time to wake up. Which makes no sense because brain has no trouble at all falling asleep during the day.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

When I'm lying in bed deciding whether to get up or not, turning on a light seems like a terrible idea, but if I do get up and I do turn on a light it's always fine. And when I go back to bed and turn off the light, I think I perceive it as darker which helps me go back to sleep (I do have trouble sleeping during the day). Disturbs the dog and possibly the cats, but they can nap all day long. And probably do.

Left the salad at work for tomorrow's lunch and brought home cake and Funyuns for dinner. I feel pretty good about my life choices right now.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

In college, I could wake up in the middle of the night from a sound sleep, get out of the top bunk without killing myself, shuffle all the way down the illuminated hallway to the bathroom (also full of light), do my business, shuffle back up the hallway, clamber into the top bunk, and fall back into a dead sleep within seconds.

Man, I miss those days. Now my brain thinks that when I wake up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, it is WIDE AWAKE LET'S HAVE ALL THE SNACKS time.

Oh, I am so jealous of K! I adore Oliver Jeffers' work and I have a fairly embarrassing crush on Ben Hatke who is both adorable and kind of hot as well as talented.

I am in New York and my brother texted me that there is nowhere he would be willing to eat within 15 blocks of his office (in Times Square) and I said Shake Shack? And he told me adults don't eat at Shake Shack. I don't even know. Then there was wine and a DJ at 6:30 pm on a Wednesday in Macy's intimates. Then I asked Google Maps to find me food and it helpfully suggested Hooters so maybe my brother is right and there is no place to eat in midtown.
