Another temporary crown, back in to weeks for (fingers-crossed) the permanent one. Dentist wants to give symnptoms that will require a root canal a chance to show up before the permanent crown is put in, basically. So we'll see how that goes. And then two weeks after that an actual non-emergency dental checkup wherein we will no doubt have to come up with a plan to deal with whatever other problems are lurking amongst my neglected teeth. Yay?
Anyway, at this point not sore but the right side of my face is numb and my mental image of my face is therefore all stroke-victim-ish, I'm drinking my lunch through straws, and people seem to want to talk to me on the phone instead of sticking to email like decent human beings.
Connie, I keep it because I get free calls to Europe. I suppose I could change the number, but I don't use it for anything so why bother?
vocal growl thing. That is not the right name. But it is really grating on my ears today.

I don't think I hear vocal fry. Every time I hear an example I cannot figure out what they are describing.
Does not seem silly to me, Maria, that's a gut punch no matter how much you rationally know why it happened.
To my ear, vocal fry sounds like when your throat kind of closes up at the end of a sentence when you're starting to run out of breath.

Isn't vocal fry the same thing as Batman voice, or that just my weird association? I know that there was a whole thing a few months back about vocal fry and how it was annoying, or at least annoying when women did it, and my reaction was, "Batman voice?" I didn't realize it was thing people did to sound cool.
I find it annoying no matter who does it, if they do it a lot.
But am I getting it right, what it sounds like?
