My kitchen sink decided to pull an exorcist move today so I had some unplanned cleaning to do. I sent an photo to my landlord and his response was, "Yuck." You think? I have removed everything from under the sink in preparation for a plumbing work tomorrow. I should probably shower tonight since I doubt anyone will give me any warning on what time the plumber will be here tomorrow.
And I've got a cold. *grump*
I'm sorry flea
No sign of fall here, but we are headed to Pacifica for the fog fest tomorrow. I hope it is a little cooler
I want to try hard root beer! It sounds delicious.
I got the same urge so I had some last week. It tastes just like regular root beer. Except for the kick.
For those of you who remember my friend Alicia, who came with me to the F2F in Pasadena in 2002-ish ...
... I just got home from her wedding. She found herself a marvellous fellow, and they are really quite extraordinarily happy together.
I'm usually quite teary at weddings, just as my mother was. I had my usual moments of getting a bit verklempt, but when Alicia wrapped her arms around me before we left, I had a sudden thought of, "I wish my mother had lived long enough to see this," and I couldn't say it out loud lest we both just start bawling.
She looked so beautiful, and so happy. And eight years ago she would have bet any amount of money you could name that this would never, ever happen.
Sometimes, love wins.
I remember Alicia! She was a lovely, fun person, and I'm both delighted for her and unsurprised that a marvelous fellow noticed how marvelous she herself is. Much joy and many many years of it to her and the fellow.
Catching up - first, I want hard root beer for breakfast.
flea, I am so sorry for your loss. Grief is often complicated.
I competed twice!
Yay! I know it wasn't brilliant, but you did it and it will get better and easier.
Sometimes, love wins.
Thank you, Karl! This brightens my morning. I've seen so many friends that have assumed they would never find this joy suddenly turn it around. May the same happen to many others.
Oh, Karl, what a lovely story to wake up to! So happy for Alicia.
flea, I am sorry for your loss.
Karl, I am so happy for Alicia. That is great.
ION, M painted Peanut's room yesterday. I think he's nesting more than I am.
I wish we had more eggs in the house, I'd make hard boiled eggs and salt crusted potatoes for breakfast! But oh well. My whole house is asleep except for Luna and myself. I am pretending to grade. She is asking for pets and to play fetch, as is right and proper.
I love a quiet morning. They are such a rare occurrence.
