The only way I can handle eating low carbs is to keep a ready supply of roasted nuts handy.

I am not low carb, and that's one of my favourite snacks.

Someday, I will make it to a Trader Joe's.

Nuts and seeds and nut and seed butters have been very important on my gestational diabetes diet. Especially since I need to have protein with meals and many of the things I would normally count as a protein (milk, beans, etc) actually count as carbs.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I'm giving myself a free pass on eating the Cool Ranch Doritos while I'm making this move happen.

Makes sense.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Congratulations, Kate and family! Welcome to the world, Jane! I love the name too.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

I was going to say that the Trader Joe's in Metairie is somewhere on Veterans, but that's probably kind of a gimme, since everything in Metairie is on Vets.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Today has kinda sucked. I took a sick day from work because I knew it would suck. I had insomnia the last two nights, and today I slept til almost noon so that was good, but I hate getting a late start on the day. Then I completed an onerous task I'd been dreading, fixed a couple stupid mistakes I made that's cost me about $150, forgot to eat or even have coffee until 2pm, and of course it was over 90 degrees today when i had to be out and about. Then the grocery store for what I forgot to get two days ago, and now I'm home and exhausted. I've also forgotten to take my meds today. Fuck it, I'm going back to bed.

Hitting the reset button. I'll feel better after a glass of water and a nap. Then I'll email a couple friends about getting together for my birthday, and list a few more things on eBay to try and recoup the money I stupidly cost myself. A plan! I love it when I have a plan. Come together, plan.
