Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

one of my San Diego college-era peeps just IM'd me to say that she's at Sox's books, beer and tacos event right now! Yay!

Since one of your people said she might come, I considered loudly doing a "Who here knows Jacqueline?", but then didn't, alas. Ah well, still an excellent good time!

I like her already.

I don't think I heard anything like 'buffista adjacent' but it was a little bit of a blur.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Damn, it's Monday.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Monday, argh. First day at the new/old job, and I'm not entirely sure where the HR office I'm supposed to report to is...

OTOH, jetlag means I didn't need the alarm clock today. So yay for that?

I got home from England on Friday and my kitchen is DONE. And then I spent all weekend unpacking and moving & sorting things. Still a lot to do, but I have fruit and milk and flowers, so I'm good to go.

Still miss English tea, though: something about the water makes it better than here, sigh.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I know it's a weird thing to say about English food, but it tastes so much better. K. and I drank a pint of fresh whole milk in Ireland and it was heavenly.

Welcome home, though!

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I'm worried about our ancient kitty Slinky. We think she's constipated, based on what's in the litter box. She's also been yowling occasionally, isn't eating, and has been throwing up a little. But she also hasn't been grooming herself, and she's walking very gingerly.

I'm kind of concerned that maybe this is the end for our kitty. She's 18 years old; we know she isn't going to live forever, but it's still hard to consider it.

Plus, this is our anniversary, and instead of going out for a fancy dinner, we're taking the kitty to the vet. (We moved the fancy dinner to Wednesday. The pets are way more important than a meal.)

Health ~ma for Slinky, Steph. The pets are always more important than food!

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Kitty~ma to Slinky. And Happy Anniversary to you and Tim!!

Jack is doing well after two days of IV fluids. He is back to his playful self. BUT after being pumped full of liquids, we are still needing to get him outside frequently for pee breaks. K-Bug and I have spent the last two nights sleeping in the living room to make the night time breaks easier. The vet will retest his blood in about a week to make sure his kidney values have improved.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Aw, poor Slinky. I hope it is something that can be easily remedied. And that your anniversary is as good as it can be despite the kitty-worry.

Hooray for the finished kitchen, Consuela! Hope settling in to the "new" job and being home again goes smoothly.

I had hoped to be hugely productive today, and that is so not happening. Sore and tired after another two 5Ks in two days; I really need to get on top of my scheduling better. Anyway, my body is demanding I take it easy today, which I think means I will have to be productive on Wednesday instead of fasting. Which is an okay compromise. Resolutely not looking at my work email, meanwhile, and grateful that I can take a day to recover from my weekend and still have two days of not working to do needed household stuff.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Much ~ma to Slinky.

I am glad that Jack seems to be feeling better.
