I knew it was coming, but they never actually communicated any dates until today. I'm really looking forward to having the windows replaced because that means my apartment won't get so hot, but they couldn't have timed things worse for me.

Plus I was told they already replaced the front door, so I'm hoping that I won't need new keys after all.

Kitchen is rearranged, mostly, and so is the bedroom. The living room, however, is going to be a pain.

Actually, no. I take that back. They could have waited until AFTER I'd left on vacation to leave a note on my door. That would have been much worse.

I'm going to eat dinner and watch @Midnight before tackling anything else.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Oh, ugh, shrift. Can the localistas who live in the neighborhood do anything to help?

Costermonger has just popped into my head. Is that a thing?

I was just going to post THAT VERY WORD, but -t saved me the trouble. I adore you so!

ION, so so tired. Day job is chaos, I am now apparently at least the interim assistant to the new chief, which does not entail any change in title or pay but does entail a terrifying lot of new work (and a whole lot of discomfort with the assistant to the former chief, and worry about her, and utter inability to navigate any of the mess), and for the last two weeks there've been at least a dozen new emails in my inbox every ten minutes, every day. I come home from work and curl in a corner and Hec plys me with comforting drinks and goat cheese and Matilda pats my hair, and I miss being human.

If it turns out that I need new keys, I may need a volunteer to pick them up for me. I would reward said person with a cocktail of their choice at Alembic once I'm back.

I'm sorry about the chaos at work, JZ. I'm familiar with the problem of getting the work without getting the pay. I hope it gets resolved soon in the best way it can for you.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Argh, that's such a terrible situation, JZ. I wish you all the respite there can be.

That would have been much worse.

Would it? I suppose it would. But you wouldn't know about it now, which seems like it might be better in the now. Would probably suck more later though.

I think all I have left to do with rearranging is to move my computer desk. Which I'm currently using. Maybe I can do that in the morning.

Halfway through writing reviews and my first glass of wine! Very close to the finish line with work stuff, and then packing.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I am pretty darn close to completely packed and stuff for the animals is under control, and now I think I am done being productive for the evening.

VACATION!

What is even happening?

Okay, I was trying to pretend to adopt the John H diet, but then I didn't.

Can I have some kidney~ma for ltc? One of her kidneys isn't draining properly and we have to go for a test on Monday to figure out if there is a physical cause. Her pediatrician said it is probably nothing to worry about, but I'm still worried.

sj, is this for real? I am praying that your ltc is okay, but I'm just so thrilled she is here.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

All the non-cow dairy noms!

She found goat milk cheddar, and she is SO HAPPY.

TJ's has so many options for non-cow dairy cheese, it's been a lifesaver for me.

health~ma for ltc & Jack.

Up way too early, but between hunger and Peanut kicking me in the ribs, further sleep wasn't in the cards.

Bummer, juliana. I woke up at 3 and tried to go back to sleep until 4:15ish when I figured it wasn't happening. Probably when I needed to get up anyway, as I am just about ready to leave and it is just about time to go...I see a nap in my future. But first, 5k.
