There are two kinds of trees that will kill you - the red gum tree that drops heavy branches with no warning and the ... banya (?) pine that drops 22 kilo pinecones on you.
But neither of them are called Death Tree, so no one can be that bothered by them.
You have to worry when Australia stops messing around and says flat out "This shit will kill you."
I thought that was what Australia was saying all the time.
You know what I like better than a three-day weekend? A six-day weekend. And it starts right now.
Paging billy t! Australia has a new death adder. Got bored with the old ones?

Yes. Yes we are.

Also called the widowmaker, here. Australia is like unto Season 4 of 24, where the villain induces a meltdown in all of America's 100 nuclear power plants as a decoy to distract attention from his real plan. So too, our venomous fauna is really just there to ensure no one pays attention to the trees. Everyone freaks out about a little snake, while it's just The Happening down here 24/7.
You know you're not doing any favors for the Australian Tourism Board's work.

But the flocks of flying foxes (fruit bats) are incredibly prehistorically awesome. And rock wallabies! Wombats!Koalas!
Man, I love rock wallabies.
I have to duct tape my big toe. A couple nights ago, I noticed slices to the pad, as if I'd stepped on a razor or something. Not deep, not painful. But then, pushing off the wall in the pool, they sorta peeled and took out a chunk deep enough to to hurt (and potentially get worse.) I have NO IDEA how I did this. Broke some glass the other day, but I was careful cleaning it up. Other possibility is sharp tile in the pool?
Couple that with dumb random bruises I can't explain and my continued failure to make necessary phone calls, really sucking at adulting. (Today was so busy, I actually never has a free moment to make a call, but still.)
I'm an exhausted mess. I'm probably forgetting to do something important with regard to work or my upcoming trip with Lee. Thank god for the trip, though.
It was brought to my attention that I'm not the only one who noticed me getting thrown under a bus at the start of the week. Plus I've been getting about 4 hours of sleep a night due to meetings and trying to get a global summit planned. Not to mention I need to get more annual review stuff done before I leave. I will be going on this vacation with a vengeance!
Also I got a new camera that I need to learn how to use. But I'm not going to stress about that.
