Oh no, Kat! I mean, good for her, but oh no!
So...white people! When you get pulled over for stupid stuff, like tailgating or registrations expired by a day, or failure to signal, etc, does the cop roll up next to you in your blind spot and look at you in your side mirror for a little while before pulling back and lighting up the rollers? I don't mean if you're doing something you know, like speeding. I'm talking about when you get pulled over and you have zero idea what he's going to say for the reason when he gets to your window?
Or do you white people not get pulled over for stuff like that, it occurs to me may be the case?
Because I feel like I've been getting a lot of driving while Asian lately. I really don't think I'm a particularly bad driver, and I rarely actually get tickets out of it, but it is seriously ramping up my baseline paranoia, which as we all know, needs no help.
Or do you white people not get pulled over for stuff like that, it occurs to me may be the case?
They still pull over white people because they do like collecting fees in California for late registration and whatnot. I don't know about that particular trick about scoping the driver. I wouldn't be surprised? When I've gotten pulled over they just get behind me and hit the lights.
Thanks Jesse!

Aww, what she said. I totally get wishing you had family nearby. I always wish I had grandparents around.

Definitely get pulled over for that kind of stuff too
Thank you, people! It's great not to just occasionally lurk here, too.
Also, good luck, Burrell, and oh, Kat. I'm sorry.
Thanks Shir!

Sometimes. Just yesterday I had that happen NOT followed by getting pulled over, which was ultimately a relief, of course, but kept me very aware of where my hands were, etc, for a while.
Dunno, Liese, I've only been pulled over a couple times, and at least one of those I was super surprised by so no idea what he did first! That said, it would not one bit surprise me to find racist cops pulling you over for driving while Asian. ...it would surprise me more if they weren't. Oh America.
I've had that happen to me, but I was the lucky out-of-state license plate in a whole line of cars that didn't slow down fast enough with a changing speed limit. (Thanks Virginia, and kiss my tourist dollars goodbye forever!)
The drive to work this morning was a significantly better experience, with a couple of extremely hot guys jogging shirtless on my route to and from picking up breakfast. Maybe I'm not quite so ready for fall to arrive after all.
The last time I was pulled over, I knew it was for the expired plate, but my reaction was "Where the hell did you come from!" when I saw the lights in my mirror.
