This bar I'm in has a skeeball lane. Very cool. Except that some people feel entitled to bring their kids to the bar to play skeeball. Their skreetchy, whiny kids. During happy hour on a Friday.
I feel you Tom. Last night my dinner to wind down after work saw me seated between TWO 12-person kids' birthday parties complete with shrieking toddlers running wild through the restaurant. I did not, in fact, wind down.

PS your story is more or less exactly how my grandparents got together. They dated very briefly in high school, then went their separate ways, (during which my grandmother married someone else), then reconnected after the war and were engaged after 5 days.
